That's me holding one of my new Curvy Girl Cards. (From Masque Magazine's site)
Sorry for the delay on the recap. I had to finish up a Organizational Behavior paper I had due. :P
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As usual, I was running a bit late. Wardrobe malfunction. I just could not find a thing to wear. I wanted a red shirt but couldn't find one that fit right. (Seven weeks into a workout routine and my body is still figuring out where it wants to be.) So I find an old halter top...not my first choice but I really didn't think I should go for anything where the "girls" would be on display. I'm selling paper here, okay.
I didn't know quite what to expect. Not only was this my first time as a vendor at this type of event, it was my first time attending one. Plus I had been saving my new Curvy Girl collection to be launched special at Curves and Cocktails.
What can I say...Aja and crew did their thing!
The location was perfect. Intimate but bright and a perfect backdrop for the variety of vendors present. My girl Yania was selling her fabulous jewelry across the room where it twinkled in the sun. Fellow vendors and customers were friendly even some introduced themselves while browsing my table. I spent alot of time speaking with fashion consultant and designer, Darryl Jagga, who was my table neighbor. You really need to look at his design book and he specializes in plus sizes. TO DIE FOR.
I admit I had a moment where I was a bit starstruck. First Maddy Jones of Plus Model Magazine stopped by my table where she was joined by Mia Amber Davis. Aaack!!! She is like one of my plus size model idols. (I promise I'm not a perv, Mia, but you are even more gorgeous in person.)
I also had the chance to meet quite a few people in the blogsphere including bloggers for Luvin My Curves, Masque Magazine, and Style Without Limit. All added to my Twitter and Google Reader.
Best part, the end of the day old school mix by DJ Stealth. Good music always make cleaning go fast.
Great vibe, great food, great fun! And oh yeah, great selling day too! Hey when you can make money and have fun, its "A Good Day".
I made sure to let Aja know I'm available for any event she wants me. And I absolutely mean it. Great show, well organized, and great people. Would definitely work with them again.
