I'm a winner of the One World One Heart Giveaway!

What a great contest! What a great prize! I won this pillow cover from Lenk Art during the 2008 OWOH giveaway!

Lenk Art offers a variety of products made from fabrics to the individuals, who have a desire to decorate their homes not with mass production items from department stores, but with unique limited edition or custom made products, such a decorative pillows, window treatments and bedding.

Ok, you people! Sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president.

Of course, my daughter has brought home another light cold that has quickly spiraled into a sinus/bronchial infection for me. After a restless evening of trying to sleep, I decide to get up and watch some tv and work on my sites. I am so pleased to see one of my absolute favorites on tv: Big Trouble in Little China.
I've always loved Kurt Russell and this movie is probably the one that jump started my love. So perfectly campy with bright colors and martial arts. Typical 80's movie fun! This movie also made me a fan of Victor Wong and James Hong.
Basic info from Wikipedia.org:
When truck driver Jack Burton (Russell) and his friend Wang Chi (Dennis Dun) go to the airport to meet friends arriving on a flight from China, bandits from Chinatown kidnap Wang's green-eyed girlfriend (Pai). To rescue her, Burton and Wang go into the mysterious underworld beneath Chinatown, where they face a number of dangerous challenges and battle karate masters and a 2,000-year-old man – an ancient sorcerer named Lo Pan (Hong). Centuries ago, Lo Pan was put under a curse, and the only way that he can permanently break the curse and regain his human form is by marrying a woman with green eyes (Miao Yin) and sacrificing her. Lo Pan is served by a ruthless street gang, the "Wing Kong", and by the "Three Storms" – three mystical henchmen named Thunder, Lightning and Rain. Jack and Wang are aided in their quest by lawyer Gracie Law (Kim Cattrall), a tour bus-driving sorcerer named Egg Shen (Victor Wong), Wang's friend Eddie Lee (Donald Li), and a helpful street gang, the Chang Sing.

Happy Heart's Day!

Celebrate your special someone with this wood burning from etsy seller unconventialida

One of my favorite poems by Nikki Giovanni

A Poem Of Friendship
We are not lovers
because of the love we make
but the love we have
We are not friends
because of the laughs we spend
but the tears we save
I don't want to be near you
for the thoughts we share
but the words we never have to speak
I will never miss you
because of what we do
but what we are together

Modified Crocheted Rasta Hat

My co-worker asked me to crochet her a tam to wear. I had a rasta hat pattern I made for a friend so I deleted some rows to make a sleeker hat.
