Partners in (Art) Crime

Who's that little girl? Well that's my little girl at the Handmade Cavalcade two weekends ago in Beacon, NY. Even though she's only six, she's already displaying artistic talent. She has a series of bright girls she forever sketching. Her future career goal is to be an art teacher so she can make art like her mommy and all the people she sells with. (AWWWW, how can I not love her?)

Last weekend, we tried our hand at making paper out of old catalogs and dried roses my beau gave her for her birthday.

Messy work but came out pretty decent for a first try.

The end of IndieSave.com

Unfortunately IndieSave.com didn't take off like I planned. Lack of time was a major issue for me. The site will be closing next month but I will be blogging about my favorite sales here so you can still catch up on discount codes and such. I just have to fit it in my studies.

New {NewNew} Giveaway

It's Monday and that means a new giveaway from the {NewNew} Etsy Team. A beautiful necklace from Beth of Third Floor Designs. I think I may have to enter myself to get such a delicate piece of artistry. Just looking at it makes me feel pretty. LOL. Visit here to find out how to enter.

So Long, Angela Davis!

As some of you know, I went natural and chopped all my hair off in April. I never planned on staying chemical free...just wanted to give my hair a break. I just had to decide when to go back to straight hair. After some thought, I decided it was time. So here I am in April after the big chop:

Here I am last week after my first relaxer in six months:

Forgive my junky bedroom but you can see here how much it grew in five months.
Overall I'm happy with how much it grew. I know if I were a bit more patient, I could have gotten it a bit longer. The less heat and chemicals I use the better but for now I can do some other stress free hairdos (twists, waves, etc.) to keep it healthy and get it closer to the length I want.
Almost everyone (except me) was sad to see my baby fro go. I was more Jill Scott (first album) than Angela Davis. I change my hair alot so it was beginning to wear on me that it was the same everyday. Hmm...maybe I'll get my retro waves this week.

Sorry to be so absent

I've been posting here and there because I started grad school and though I'm only two classes in, I'm exhausted. Things are going well but I have to squeeze studying into some of my blogging time. :( I will try to do some updates this weekend.

List of Suppliers

Since I dabble in different art forms I tend to keep lists of different suppliers. I will be posting them here to keep track. Please feel free to visit them. I would try to mark off the ones I have a **positive** experience with.
