I follow ALOT of blogs
At last count 518. And I find new ones everyday. I try to share interesting bits with you by sharing links on the left hand side of my blog but sometimes certain posts jump out at me. So if you see post that say "Sent from Danielle's Google Reader" or something to that effect. It means I want to share something brilliant or informative, or plain fun with you.
Besides one of my friends told me it looks like I blog alot.
I gotta keep up the illusion. lol

Back at work...bah humbug!
Yes, I returned to work yesterday. I'm still a little shaky and this Singulair gives me the worse case of metal mouth. Blah!!! But I killed all my vacation time being home last week. And believe me, I was sick. I didn't do much more than wander around my apartment like a lost wraith. Luckily school is done for the semester but now its time to get ready for June shows.
I know people have a love/hate relationship with VistaPrint. I myself complain about the quality. It's become very hit or miss but I needed some biz cards stat! I looked through their templates and found one which I thought reflected the feel of my shop and ordered some postcards too. And they were free!!!
I'm working on a few new things because June is looking pretty busy. I'm constantly trying to think of ways to use paper. There's alot of trial and error involved. Sometimes something is so right on the first try and I can't duplicate it. (Pinwheels, sigh!!!) I really need to invest in some proper tools. (Adhesive is a biggie.) Especially for new projects --- pinwheels, origami, paperweights, paper jewelry....yes I said paper jewelry.
I've experimented with paper earrings in the past and I'd like to add some things to the shop so keep your eyes peeled.

Bobbi Brown is a miracle worker!!
This is me today. I'm home sick with a combo of tonsilitis, bronchitis, and sinusitus. I know... what the hell? For some reason, my allergies always take a turn for the worse. I felt alittle sick Thursday and Friday but by Saturday I had lost my voice and was an absolute wreck. I've been house bound ever since. I ventured out Monday to take my daugher to school and yesterday to visit the doctor and those two adventures wiped me out. I'm on so much medication, I'm surprised the police hasn't raided my house for possession. Today I was tired of looking at my wan face in the mirror so I did my hair and put on some makeup.
I feel like crap but don't I look pretty.

The Japanese Shirt a.k.a. I got into what?
A couple of years ago, I did this home party for my business. I wanted to look fashionable but classic. I agonized over what to wear. I finally found alittle kimono styled top and a pair of black jeans from Rainbow Shops. Now mind you, I hadn't shopped in Rainbow since college days but I was stuck. My fashion designer daughter in training instructed me to wear dangling earrings and the outfit (and the party) were a smash.
I wore the little combo alot and was dismayed when I couldnt get it on anymore. Of course like most people in denial about weight gain, I thought "This shirt must have shrunk. It was only $16 from Rainbow." Subconciously, I think I knew the truth because I hung the shirt in my closet and kept pulling it out and trying it on saying the same thing. "I can't believe it shrank so much!!"
Well today, I did my little number. I was running late and I needed a top so I pulled it out. "Oh why am I pulling it out? I know it doesn't fit me because I gained weight." Yes I admitted the truth but something said put it on anyway.
And IT FITS!!!!
Granted its a little snug but its wearable. I couldn't even get it past my bosom before.
Silently I've been bitching about the fact the scale won't move after almost three months of four day a week workouts but I knew I was toning and this little Japanese shirt was proof.
LOL, of course the kid asked where were the dangling earrings?

Grades Are In...
One surprise and one expected. Overall 3.25 for the semester. Oh well. Next semester is tech heavy. Java Programming, Enterprise Database Managment, etc. I plan on taking some classes from the Small Business Development Center to prep over the summer. They're online and they are cheap. $99 beats $2k any day. I'll probably take C+ and PHP. I really want to take Ruby on Rails but I think I will wait and see how the first two go. They have alot of classes available if anyone wants to check them out. There's more than tech classes and I don't think they are for NJ only.

Quizzes!!
Brain Lateralization Test Results |
Right Brain (49.2%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain. Left Brain (50.8%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain |
Actually no real surprise here...I indulge in quite a few artistic pursuits and I'm an information junkie and math wiz. (Absolutely hate math but it comes easy to me.) My daughter seems to be following the same path. Math whiz who loves to draw.
ESTP - "Promotor". Action! When present, things begin to happen. Fiercely competitive. Entrepreneur. Often uses shock effect to get attention. Negotiator par excellence. 4.3% of total population. |

I'm in good company (though scandolous company) Madonna, JFK, etc. LOL
Hmm.....something to think about.

I've been pinging you and I apologize
The past few weeks have been alittle hectic and I havent' had the time to post as usual. Stressed out a bit about school. Didn't do as well as I wanted this semester. Just too tired and couldn't focus. I'm hoping for at least a 3.5 but I won't be upset if its a 3.3. Next semester promises to be tough because its mostly technical and quiet honestly...I find programming to be BORING! But I will hope for the best. Maybe I'll be more focused and full of energy.
Went back to the gym today. I took a week off to rest my body. I was experiencing alittle joint pain. Working out coupled with a bad bed was taking its toll. So I called 1-800 Mattress last week and got a new bed and I feel so much better. I also found a workout plan to start that looks interesting: 12-Week Treadmill Workout
Now if I can only get these allergies under control. **sigh**
Uh yes Jamie Lee Curtis was a girl crush for me in the '80s. LOL!
